This Lighting Measurements Testing & Calculation Guide defines adequate and uniform procedures for measuring and reporting the photometric characteristics of tunnel lighting installations. The measurement of those factors that determine the performance of tunnel lighting installations are specifically related to ANSI/IES RP-22-11 American National Standard Practice for Tunnel Lighting.
Included in this guide are specific luminance and illuminance measurement methods applied to tunnels and the location of test points for these measurements. This guide was reviewed by both the IES Testing Procedures Committee and the Tunnel Lighting Subcommittee of the IES Roadway Lighting Committee.
